BlackRock has been granted a Certificate of Authorization, which is the main environmental permit required for construction and has received a positive Environmental Assessment Decision Statement from the Federal Government of Canada.

The BlackRock Metals project is subject to provincial and federal laws and all the regulations applicable to resource projects. BlackRock’s environmental studies have dealt with all the environmental factors inherent in such legislation, and identified minimal environmental impact from construction and operations. The various stages of the project are established according to the principles of the least environmental impact and sustainable development, which entail an understanding of the local and social environment.

This process of review and compliance led BlackRock to go beyond the regulation protections in developing its unique EnviroGreen Manufacturing Process. BlackRock’s deep understanding of the environment was also instrumental in developing a monitoring and follow-up program to target and mitigate all potential impacts of operations.
